Logic4training’s City & Guilds 6361-01 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) course will provide successful candidates with the necessary qualification to become a DEA and issue Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPC). It also includes four out of eight units covered by the Green Deal Assessor qualification, making it a progression route for those looking to take advantage of the new scheme. This DEA course is the updated version, introduced in April 2012, which includes the new EPC calculations using SAP 9.1 – it replaces City & Guilds 6020-01.
Existing Domestic Energy Assessors who wish to up-skill to become Green Deal Assessors must hold the most recent version of the qualification (C&G 6361-01) unless they completed the DEA CPD course before 01/10/12.
Energy Performance Certificates are required by law as part of the property documents collated by solicitors/conveyancers for every home that is constructed, sold or rented, in England & Wales. Since October 2008 it has also become mandatory that landlords provide EPCs for all tenanted properties. While the Government has scrapped the need for Home Information Packs (HIPs), the requirement for an EPC is still in place and these must be issued by a suitably qualified and registered Domestic Energy Assessor. EPC’s are needed for the Feed in Tariffs scheme and will be part of Green Deal Assessment along with the Green Deal report.
The Domestic Energy Assessor course is currently only delivered at Logic4training’s Northolt centre. The cost of the course includes training, assessment, certification fees, a copy of the Domestic Energy Assessors Guide and portfolio building guidance.
