Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations to BS7671:2008 – course information

Logic4training runs the City & Guilds 2391 training course, aimed at experienced personnel who are responsible for the inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations to BS7671:2008. This may include those who are defined as Duty Holders or Qualified Supervisors under BS7671.

The training course takes 3 ½  days and is a mixture of both practical, carried out on purpose built rigs, and theory. 

The practical element of the assessment takes place on the fourth day and lasts between 3-4 hours. The closed book, written assessment for the inspection, testing & certification of electrical installations to BS7671, takes place throughout the year on dates specified by City & Guilds and is 2 ½ hours long.

Candidates should posess the City & Guilds 2382 – 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and have a practical working knowledge of both domestic and commercial electrical installations including 3 phase installations. Candidates should also be familiar with testing and inspection using suitable test equipment and the completion of the relevant forms as per BS7671 including Minor Works Electrical Installation Certificates and Full Electrical Installation Certificates.

The price includes registration with City & Guilds and examination costs. All tools and test equipment are supplied by Logic4training for the candidates use.

Guidance documents are provided for use during the electrical course, including the Brian Scadden Guide to Inspection, Testing and Certification, this book is despatched before the course and should be read and the revision tests completed before the course starts. Candidates are also advised to purchase a copy of the IET Guidance Note 3 on Inspection, Testing and Certification as this forms an essential part of the underpinning knowledge for the written and practical assessments.
