Domestic Energy Assessor course

Description

Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) training course - City & Guilds 6020-01 Level 3 Diploma

Domestic Energy Assessor  Course overview:

Logic4training’s DEA training will provide successful candidates with the necessary qualification to become a Domestic Energy Assessor and issue Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

Energy Performance Certificates are required by law as part of the property documents collated by solicitors/conveyancers for every home that is constructed, sold or rented, in England & Wales. Since October 2008 it has also become mandatory that landlords provide EPCs for all tenanted properties, so the demand for Domestic Energy Assessors is on the increase.

While the Government has recently scrapped the need for Home Information Packs (HIPs), the requirement for an EPC is still in place and these must be issued by a suitably qualified and registered Domestic Energy Assessor.

As an energy assessor you will have the flexibility of working for yourself and dictating your own workload. The role is varied, inspecting and measuring a wide range of residential properties to gather information needed for the Energy Performance Certificate.

Course duration: 5 days (plus two 1/2 day sessions for portfolio building and submission) - NORTHOLT ONLY

Course cost: £1,495 + VAT

Entry requirements:

Domestic Energy Assessor training candidates should have some knowledge of domestic building types, styles and ages is preferable but not essential. The course does involve taking measurements and working out dimensions so a reasonable level of maths is required. Also, basic computer skills are needed to input all the data in order to create a certificate. All candidates have to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check in order to be able to visit premises and issue domestic property certificates.
