Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1); re-assessment and appliances course
Gas Safety Course overview:
Logic4training’s Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1); re-assessment and appliances course is a necessary requirement of the ACS (Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme.) The CCN1 re-assessment training is designed for candidates who need to renew their qualifications in order to maintain their membership on the Gas Safe Register.
To join the Gas Safe Register and trade legally as a heating engineer, installers must have met the criteria of ACS. The Accredited Certification Scheme covers all areas of gas work including domestic, LPG, commercial heating and commercial catering.
Course duration: 4 days
Course cost: £925 + VAT
(this price includes four appliances, candidates who require assessment in less than four will receive a reduction of £85 per appliance.)
Entry requirements:
The CCN1 gas course (re-assessment and appliances) is available for operatives needing to renew their qualifications. Installers who have held this qualification previously but it is now more than 12 months out of date, must take Logic4training’s Gas Safety (CCN1) initial training and assessment course. Candidates who have never held this qualification but have transferable skills and experience may be eligible for the Logic4training Approved Prior Learning programme, which culminates in CCN1 training and assessment.
CCN1 gas safety re-assessment may only be taken on modules which operatives have previously been certificated under the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS).
Do I need this course?
Joining the Gas Safe Register is a legal requirement for anyone carrying out gas work in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. To register as a domestic installer, you must hold CCN1 Gas Safety, plus certification for the appliances you intend to work on.
- CCN1 safety course content/syllabus: Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1); re-assessment, plus four of the following five appliances:
- CENWAT: Central heating boilers/hot water heaters
- CKR1: Cookers
- HTR1: Gas fires
- CPA1: Combustion performance analysis
Any operative who wishes to undertake CENWAT and/or HTR1 must also hold their CPA1 certificate. Qualifying installers have until the end of March 2012 to complete their CPA1. Visit our ACS training blog for more information:
Assessment takes to form of practical tests and written papers. On successful completion of the training course, candidates will be issued with the Logic Certification certificates in CCN1 Gas Safety and the appliances they have undertaken.
