Gas Safety Re-assessment Course overview
The Logic4training four day Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) plus appliances course includes training and re-assessment on the following:
CCN1 - Core Domestic Gas Safety (With effect from April 1st 2012, the Combustion Performance Analysis (CPA1) module is included within CCN1)
CENWAT - Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
CKR1 - Cookers
HTR1 - Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters)
Logic4training’s Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1) and Appliances Re-assessment course is a necessary requirement of the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme for Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS). The course is designed for gas installers who need to renew their qualifications in order to maintain their membership on the Gas Safe Register.
The cost of the CCN1 gas course (re-assessment and appliances) includes training, assessment and the certification fee. This package will be reduced by £85.00 + vat per gas appliance for operatives who do not require assessment in all of the appliance modules. Operatives who do not need to complete all of the modules within the package should contact the Customer Service Team on 0208 845 7222 for a revised price for the course. Training is not a mandatory prerequisite to assessment.
Entry requirements
The CCN1 gas re-assessment training is available for operatives needing to renew their qualifications. In order to qualify to undertake re-assessment, operatives must complete the course no more that 12 months after the expiry date of their existing qualifications.
Gas installers may also undertake the course up to six months prior to the expiry date of their existing qualification. In this case, the renewal date of their new CCN1 qualification will start from the expiry date of their existing gas safety qualification.
Gas installers who have held the qualifications previously but have let them lapse by more than 12 months, must undertake Logic4training’s Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) training and initial assessment course. Candidates who have never held CCN1 but have transferable skills and experience may be eligible for the Logic4training Approved Prior Learning programme.
Installers may only undertake gas appliance re-assessment in modules which they have previously been certificated under the ACS scheme.
Do I need this course?
Membership of Gas Safe Register is a legal requirement for any operative wishing to carry out gas work in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. To register as a domestic gas installer, you must hold Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) plus certification for the appliances they intend to work on.

Tightness testing and purging, including low and medium pressure

Chimney systems recogonition and testing

Ventilation

Flue gas analysis
Re-assessment gas appliances training covers:

Installation defects

Basic gas safety fault finding
CCN1 assessment takes the form of practical tests and multiple choice question papers. On successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with the Logic Certification certificate in Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) and the appliances they have undertaken.
