New Entrants Approved Prior Learning (APL) Gas Safety courses

Logic4training offers New Entrant Approved Prior Learning Gas Safety training courses for those operatives with transferable skills who are looking to become a domestic or commercial gas installers. These courses are recognised under the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme for Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS) as approved Managed Learning Programmes, which are required prior to undertaking the ACS assessments for the first time.

Logic4training’s New Entrants APL Gas Safety Training courses are the New Entrant Gas Foundation Course, the New Entrant Domestic Gas Training, the New Entrant Commercial Heating and the New Entrant Commercial Catering. Please follow the web links for further information on each course.

Before enrolling for any of the New Entrant APL programmes, operatives must attend the New Entrant Induction Interview  during which the trainer will go through the following New Entrant APL programme details:-

 

  1. 1 - Candidate entry requirements
  2. 2 - Duration and content of each element
  3. 3 - Training programme and materials
  4. 4 - Building the on-site portfolio
  5. 5 - Returning to undertake ACS assessments
  6. 6 - Becoming Gas Safe Registered
  7. 7 - Costs and payment options
  8. 8 - Skills assessment

 

The induction interview is free of charge and takes a maximum of 2 hours. After attendance of the interview, Logic4training will be able to advise on the best course for the individual operative. Please phone 0845 845 7222 to book a place on the Induction Interview.

New Entrants Oil Course

Logic4 training offers the New Entrant OFTEC OFT50 Oil Firing Introductory Training Course for those operatives with transferable skills who are looking to work on oil installations, appliances, supply and storage.

New Entrant Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) Training Course

Logic4training offers the City & Guilds Level 3 6020-01 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) Training Course allowing successful candidates to assess and issue domestic energy performance certificates. On completion, candidates are automatically registered with the H&VCA which is one of the recognised accreditation bodies for domestic energy assessors. Some operatives will be aware that the Government has scrapped Home Information Packs (HIPs) but the requirement still exists for an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to be produced when a property is sold or rented in England and Wales. This certificate must be issued by a qualified and registered Domestic Energy Assessor.

New Entrant Access to Building Services

The Level 1 City & Guilds 2000 Access to Building Services Engineering Course is for those who are 19+ years old and are unemployed. It is a 7 week introductory qualification which covers the following 4 areas of Building Services Engineering industry:

 

1 - Plumbing

2 - Electro Technical

3 - Heating and Ventilating

4 - Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

 

The course is fully funded through the Governments Skills Funding Agency for those who are 19+ years of age and unemployed. Applicants need to apply for the course via the Job Centre Plus (JCP) quoting the JCP opportunity number LUN/40892. Alternatively applicants can apply for the course via a Work Programme Primes such as Seetec quoting the same opportunity number.
