Changes to building regulations means new training for plumbers
Logic Certification has launched a new, Hot Water Systems and Safety (HWSS) course, which replaces its pre-existing unvented hot water training. Updated due to the recently revised G3 Building Regulation, unlike its predecessor HWSS covers both vented and unvented systems.
Offering both initial training and re-assessment, plumbers who already hold the pre-existing Unvented Hot Water certificate are eligible for re-assessment.
The course covers:
- Installation and safety
- Regulations, standards and guidelines
- Theory of hot water expansion
- Principles of hot water storage
- Design considerations
- Components and function
- Safety controls, discharge and integration
- Maintenance and servicing
Candidates must be experienced in the installation of domestic hot and cold water systems and hold one DCLG recognised competency in a conventional fuel. A plumbing-based NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification/experience is also accepted.
In addition to the HWSS course, Logic Certification delivers a range of building services training, including MCS recognised renewables, gas, electrical and air-conditioning courses. For more information, visit www.logiccertification.co.uk
