There are new business opportunities coming to Basildon for anyone in the construction and building services industries.   Construction work could start this year on the creation of two new business parks near Southend Airport.  The proposals, which would generate thousands of jobs in the Basildon area across a range of industries, have been approved by Southend and Rochford councillors. A planning decision is expected shortly to enable work to start on site after Easter 2016.   Over a 10-15 year period, 7,000 jobs are expected to be created through the construction alone.   The creation of close to 100,000 sqm of new employment space will provide commercial accommodation for entrepreneurs and small businesses.  The developers are particularly looking to attract businesses in the medical and technological sectors and the site will be home to the Anglia Ruskin University Medtech campus. Transport improvement schemes around the site are set to provide even more employment opportunities.  The council has been working with its development partner Henry Boot to refine a masterplan for the area.   Keith Hudson, deputy leader of Rochford District Council, said: “This process has taken seven years to complete and involved a great deal of hard work from both Rochford District Council and Southend Council, but this is where the real work starts.   “Now we need to press ahead with implementation, as this means 7,000 jobs for our residents - 7,000 jobs that will put bread on the tables of our families."   [caption id="attachment_1285" align="aligncenter" width="600"]Logic4training Basildon Logic4training's Basildon Centre[/caption]   Are your skills up to the job?
