Gas Safety Week is an annual safety week to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances. It is coordinated by the Gas Safe Register; an official list of gas engineers who are legally allowed to work on gas. Logic4training supports the initiative every year by posting on our social media and sending out emails to our customers urging them to support the cause. Let’s remember what happened each year.  2020: A decade of keeping our nation safe together! Join thousands of individuals and organisations around the UK helping who are keep people safe. Pledge your support if you haven’t done so yet.  Here are some reasons why we take part to support gas safety week:
  • Corporate social responsibility - help protect your customers and save lives. Carbon monoxide poisoning affects over a thousand people each year and can be fatal.
  • Informative content. You can use the free gas safety materials as part of your own advertising campaign.
  • Improve your brand awareness - all supporters appear on the Gas Safe website.
2019: Just a year ago a new boiler gas safety label, (now placed on boiler packaging) had been unveiled. Where a message on the label reads: “This appliance should be installed and commissioned by a competent, registered, engineer.” HHIC label Hoping that the message will make it harder for unregistered ‘installers’ to operate in the industry. More about the new label you can read here. 2018: Gas safe card checklist Logic4training Gas Safe Card Use checklist was released by Logic4training to help gas engineers proactively show their Gas Safe credentials to their customers to identify and benefit from all the opportunities to promote gas safety.  As a gas safe registered engineer, you already know, that it is very important to have the right qualifications and evidence of competence to carry out gas work safely. Faulty gas appliances can lead to problems like loose connections, improper water circulations, carbon monoxide leaks and cause explosions in your, your customers’ houses, establishments and office buildings. By showing your Gas Safe Card to your customer you can make them aware that they should deem it a requirement for anyone who they do business with. • Install an audible carbon monoxide alarm
  • Look out for warning signs that your gas appliances aren’t working correctly e.g. lazy yellow or orange flames instead of crisp blue ones, black marks on or around the appliance and too much condensation in the room
