Doug’s Twitter Takeover

Gas Safe Register’s Gas Safe hero Doug is going to be taking over the Gas Safety Week Twitter account this week to let everyone know what he’s up to. He’ll be posting from the events he attends, and telling the public about the activities of all the Gas Safety Week supporters. If you’d like Doug to post about what you’ll be doing this week, simply email or direct message Doug himself. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #GSW14 to show your support and appear on the Gas Safety Week website.

Doug’s Phonebox Tour

Gas Safe Register, registered gas engineers and local Fire and Rescue Services will be touring the country this week, visiting some of the UK’s gas danger hot spots – Sunderland, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Norwich, Bristol and Portsmouth – to remind people of the importance of getting regular safety checks on all gas appliances.  Find out more about the events locations and timings.

New and Improved Gas Map

Last year Gas Safe Register launched the first ever interactive gas map which identifies the most dangerous postcodes in the country. It proved a huge success, bringing gas safety right to consumers doorsteps. To build on its success they’ve updated and improved the map for this year’s Gas Safety Week. Changes include: more data from Gas Safe Register, more data from the Gas Distribution Networks; an improved user journey and interface; mobile friendly; an improved sign-up tool with multiple reminder sign-up option; and SMS reminders.
