Logic4training is supporting the Gas Safe Register’s new campaign to keep everyone, particularly the over 65s, warm and safe this winter.
The campaign is intended to encourage this often vulnerable group to get their appliances checked annually by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer, highlighting the risks of Carbon Monoxide poisoning, which is often caused by equipment not being serviced regularly, or installed properly. The Gas Safe Register wants to ensure that everyone knows that it is the only official list of gas engineers who are legally allowed to do work on gas appliances.
To support the campaign, Logic4training and the Gas Safe Register is calling all installers to show their ID cards when they visit new customers, regardless of whether they’re asked. The Gas Safe Register will be producing a leaflet for homeowners, detailing the importance of gas safety and choosing the right installer – this will be available for heating engineers to distribute with quotes or house calls. The leaflet will encourage end-users to check with the Gas Safe Register if they are unsure of the credibility of a heating engineer.
If you’re a Gas Safe Registered installer, carry your card at all times and show it to every customer. Keep up to date with ACS training and assessment in order to maintain your place on the Gas Safe Register list.
All Gas Safe Registered installers have a responsibility to keep their customers safe. Make sure the elderly in your area are aware of the need to get their appliances checked and protect them from bogus installers.
