Our Smart Meter Installer Apprenticeship provides businesses with employees who meet all government objectives for the smart meter scheme, who are fully equipped to support this industry change. Candidates will be able to successfully:
- Install and commission low pressure gas and single phase electricity Smart Meters
- Install and commission Smart Meter communications units
The Smart Meter Installer Apprenticeship leads to completion of the Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering (Dual Fuel). The qualification includes 10 mandatory units covering gas, electrical and communication specific skills alongside working practices, health and safety and customer service skills.
The scheme ensures employers are directly involved with the apprentice’s progress, promoting regular visits, reviews and mentoring throughout the programme.
