TL;DR

  • Logic4training acquired Xtra Skills on 1 September 2026.
  • Xtra Skills will continue to serve learners and businesses from its Coventry centre.
  • Existing customers can expect the same team, standards, care and straightforward support they know.
  • The Coventry centre continues to offer training in areas including Gas ACS, OFTEC oil and boiler fault finding.
  • The acquisition gives learners access to the combined experience, resources and progression opportunities of two established training providers.

A natural next step for two established training providers

We are pleased to announce that Logic4training has acquired Xtra Skills, the Coventry-based training and assessment provider, on 1 September 2026.

For Logic4training, this is an important step. It takes our training beyond the South East and into the Midlands. More importantly, it brings together two businesses with a shared view of what good training looks like: practical, properly delivered and supported by people who care about the learner’s next step.

Xtra Skills has built a strong reputation over 25 years. Their Coventry centre serves domestic and commercial plumbing and heating professionals, including engineers taking Gas ACS assessments, OFTEC oil training and Water Training courses. That local knowledge, technical focus and personal service are exactly what made Xtra Skills the right fit for Logic4training.

What this means for Xtra Skills customers

The clearest message is simple: it is business as usual.

People choose a training provider for more than a certificate. They want straight answers, likeable and knowledgeable trainers, well-run assessments and a team that understands the reality of working in the trade. We know these qualities have helped Xtra Skills earn the trust of engineers, employers and learners across Coventry and the wider Midlands.

We intend to protect that trust.

Xtra Skills customers will continue to receive the same care and transparency that the business has developed over the past 25 years. The familiar people, the standards and the practical approach remain central to the Coventry centre.

There is no need for existing customers to do anything differently. Course and assessment enquiries can continue through the Xtra Skills website.

Paul Withey, Founder, Xtra Skills (right of image):

“I’ve known and worked alongside the Logic4training team for a long time, and over the years we’ve built a relationship based on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to doing things properly. Completing this deal feels like the right step, not just for me, but for our customers and the people who’ve supported Xtra Skills from day one.”

Mark Krull, Managing Director, Logic4training (left of image):

“Adding Xtra Skills to our portfolio is an exciting next step for Logic4training, broadening our reach beyond the South East. Paul has developed an excellent centre, delivering high-quality training and we intend to continue his good work, while looking to expand the courses on offer in the future. Existing Xtra Skills customers should rest assured that it’s business as usual.”

Paul Withey, Founder, Xtra Skills:

“I’m proud of what we’ve built in Coventry and the wider area, and I’m genuinely pleased to be working with Logic4training to make sure that reputation continues exactly as it is. Our customers will still see the same faces, the same standards, and the same care they’ve always had.”

Logic4training will build on the work Xtra Skills already does well. The immediate priority is continuity: maintaining the quality of training, clear communication and reliable customer support that learners expect from the Coventry centre.

In time, the acquisition will also create opportunities to broaden the training available in the Midlands. We will do that thoughtfully, and only where it adds real value for local engineers, employers and learners. We will be open about any changes, keep customers informed and protect the approachable, dependable service that has made Xtra Skills so well regarded.

Our final thoughts

Training is where standards start. Whether an engineer is refreshing existing knowledge, adding a new appliance category or starting a new career, training needs to be technically sound and grounded in real working practice.

The building-services sector needs capable people across domestic and commercial heating, plumbing, oil and low-carbon technologies. Xtra Skills has built strong roots in gas training across the Midlands. Logic4training brings more than two decades of experience supporting tradespeople and employers across several regions. Together, we can strengthen access to practical training without losing the local relationships that make a centre valuable.

This is not change for change’s sake. It is a careful expansion built around a business we respect, a team we value and a customer base we are committed to supporting for years to come. Our priority is to retain what has made Xtra Skills trusted in Coventry and the wider Midlands, while creating more opportunities for learners and employers as the centre develops.
