The LCL Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating Systems equips learners with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed to work confidently in the plumbing and heating industry. On successful completion, you’ll be well-prepared for roles such as a domestic plumber, heating engineer, or maintenance technician.
If you plan to work on construction sites, you’ll also need to complete the LCL Awards NVQ in Plumbing and Heating. This qualification is essential for applying for a JIB Plumbing CSCS card, which proves you’re qualified to work safely and competently on-site.

Who is this course suitable for?
This course is ideal for new entrants to the plumbing industry with little or no prior experience. It’s also suitable for career changers looking to gain a recognised plumbing qualification.
How many people are there per course?
To maximise contact time with your trainer, we like to keep our class sizes small. Therefore, classes will have a maximum of 8 people.
Will I be qualified to work on gas appliances after this course?
It depends on the package you take. To becoming Gas Safe Registered, we recommend our Gold or Platinum packages which include our Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP). These packages cover everything from classroom theory and hands-on training to portfolio building and final ACS assessments – the required steps before applying for Gas Safe registration.
Can I complete the course on weekends?
Yes, you can complete both the Level 2 Plumbing Diploma and Gas Managed Learning Programme on Weekends at our Northolt centre, but the courses will take longer to complete. The Plumbing Diploma will take around 4 and a half months to complete, whilst the Gas Managed Learning programme will take 3 months.
Do I need to bring my own tools?
You will receive a plumbing tool kit on the first day of your course which you will need to bring in everyday. You will also need to bring steel toe-capped boots for the Workshop.
