Logic4training teams up with Knowhow to get unemployed back into work

Logic4training has teamed up with Knowhow, part of Dixons Retail, the owner of Currys and PC World, to get Luton’s unemployed back into work. Students from Logic4training’s Access to Building Services Engineering course have been offered work experience and in some cases a full time work by Knowhow, which provides support and installation services.

Access to Building Services Engineering is a fully-funded seven week programme which gives candidates a solid grounding in related BSE technologies, as well as employability skills. Trainees are selected based on their enthusiasm and willingness to learn, with those that prove themselves put forward for work placements, such as that offered by Knowhow.

Knowhow has been taking Access to Building Services students since May 2013 and is finding the process a useful one. Jon Ford, Aylesbury CSC Manager for Knowhow’s home services, explained. “The relationship we’ve forged with Logic4training over the last few months has been great, with the majority of candidates passed over to Knowhow proving excellent additions to the team. We’ve currently employed six Access to Building Services trainees, with plans to take more on in the future.

“Employees start off supporting our electrical, heating and plumbing installers on the road. Once they’ve gained some experience, we put suitable candidates through to complete relevant qualifications to deliver services as electricians, gas and plumbing installers.

“For Knowhow, this is a great opportunity to help the unemployed get back into work and once they’ve been through Logic4training’s Access to Building Services programme, they arrive ready to hit the ground running.”

Logic4training is looking for more employers to support its Access to Building Services Engineering course, by offering work experience, employment or just advice. For more information, contact: 0345 845 7222, or enquiries@logic4training.co.uk.
