RHI figures hit 25,000 accreditations!

According to the Department of Energy and climate Change (DECC), some 25,000 homes have signed up to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), presenting a great business opportunity for suitably trained installers.

Amber Rudd MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Climate Change, explained:

“It’s very encouraging that in only a number of months, 25,000 people have already taken up the incentive – proving that installing renewable heating can be a real, everyday choice for people’s homes.

“The RHI aims to help kick-start the renewable heat market, to make it attractive to investment from businesses as well as individuals, so they can enjoy the benefits of renewable heating in terms of having warmer premises or homes, lower bills and reducing their emissions.”

Embrace green!

The figures speak for themselves; the renewables sector is a growing one, but it’s not too late to transfer your skills and take-up training in a green technology that could see your business soar in 2015!

Currently, heat pumps are topping the popularity charts under the RHI – we offer a QCF Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pump Systems for those looking to operate in the domestic or small commercial properties.

But in response to our customers, last year we launched a heat pump only course, as this is the most relevant heat pump to most of the engineers passing through our centres.

QCF level 3 Qualification in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps is designed to save engineers valuable time and money by specialising in just this technology; the course also meets the training entry requirement for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

And if you’re unsure what type of technology would best complement your business, we would recommend undertaking our QCF Level 3 Award in the Fundamental Principles and Requirement of Environmental Technology Systems.

This course delivers a comprehensive background to a range of environmental technology ranging from solar thermal (hot water) to micro-wind and Greywater re-use.
