Solar independence day 2017

July 1, 2017 featured image

July is here – No we can’t believe it either.

The 4th July is Solar independence day, a yearly celebration of all things Solar and we want as many people as possible to get involved (so do the Solar Trade Association.)

STA are keen to get as many people on board as possible, so we are here to raise a bit of awareness and encourage some sharing on social media.

“It’s been a rocky year for solar this year but some amazing things have also happened. UK solar generation beat coal and overtook nuclear for the first time – and then a whopping 86% of you said you loved solar. Internationally, a solar plane flew around the world and China and India went nuts for solar.

The technology landscape is evolving faster than ever around solar to deliver total solutions; smart grids, EVs and storage.

Independence from volatile energy prices, from the geopolitical tensions associated with fossil fuel imports, from dangerous climate change is increasingly within our grasp.”

How to get involved

It’s all about content. STA want people to share their favourite solar projects on social media. They also want to know why you love solar.

If you have received the STA newsletter you will have been provided with some Tweet ideas but we are sure that you’ll be able to come up with some great solar related content to share.

Keep supporting solar

The more noise the industry can make the better, so don’t just make this “a day thing”. The STA needs support.
