Validations from a supervisor, site manager, or qualified electrician. They will provide signed statements confirming that the work you’ve documented was completed to a professional standard and under relevant site conditions.

During this Level 3 Electrical NVQ, you will be assigned a Logic4training NVQ assessor who will conduct at least one mandatory on-site visit. During this session, they will observe you working in real-time to verify your practical skills, safety awareness, and technical proficiency. To meet this requirement, you must be engaged in site work that allows our assessor to visit your workplace and formally observe your competence in a live environment.

All this evidence is uploaded to our digital portfolio system, allowing you to track your progress in real-time. Once your assessor confirms all units are met, your portfolio serves as the definitive proof of your competence, clearing the way for your AM2 assessment.

If you have over 5 years of experience but no diplomas, you may need to take the 2346 Experienced Worker Assessment instead.

The C&G 2365 Level 3 Electrical Diploma is an in-centre learning-based qualification that teaches you the theory and practical skills needed to carry out electrical work. The C&G 2357 Level 3 Electrical NVQ is an on-site assessment-based qualification that proves you can apply that knowledge on a real job site. You cannot get a ECS Gold Card with the Diploma alone. You must complete the NVQ and the AM2 to prove your competence to the industry.

Most candidates at Logic4training will complete their portfolio within 6 to 18 months. The timeline is entirely dependent on your workload. If you are working on a variety of commercial and domestic projects, you will gather the required evidence for your units much faster.

No. Because the NVQ is a work-based assessment, you must be employed or working as a sub-contractor in the electrical trade. You need to be able to take photos of your work, write reflective accounts of your tasks, and have an expert witness (typically a supervisor) confirm your competence on-site.

While the AM2 is the final endpoint assessment required to sign off on your NVQ, the cost is not included in the standard NVQ fee. If you are undertaking Logic4training’s Platinum Electrical Package, the cost of 1 attempt of the AM2 is included.

The majority of the C&G 2357 Level 3 Electrical NVQ is completed remotely via our digital portfolio system, where you upload evidence from your workplace. You will only need to visit our centres in Northolt, Luton, Basildon or Sittingbourne for your initial profiling session and bridging unit. Your assessor will also visit you once on your job site for a direct observation.

Please note: A new version of the 2357 Level 3 NVQ will be released in May this year. The current 2357 requires a ‘bridging unit’ that can be assessed in-centre, however, it may be removed in May.

To pass the Level 3 Electrical NVQ, you must show competence in different areas (e.g., containment, wiring, and testing). If your current job is repetitive, our assessors can help you identify “evidence gaps” and advise on what specific tasks you need to find, or what technical documentation you need to provide, to satisfy the qualification criteria.

Holding the C&G 2357 Level 3 Electrical NVQ is a primary requirement for joining a Competent Person Scheme (like NICEIC or NAPIT). Once you have your NVQ and you have joined one of these schemes, you are legally authorised to self-certify your work to Part P of the Building Regulations. This is essential for anyone wanting to work as a self-employed domestic or commercial electrician.
