Understanding how electricity works in a domestic setting, including the function of consumer units, circuit breakers (MCBs), Residual Current Devices (RCDs), and the importance of effective earthing and bonding.

An overview of the 18th Edition standards to help non-technical staff understand what a “compliant” installation looks like and how to spot common deviations.

Learning the essential 10-step safe isolation process. While this is an awareness course, understanding this process is vital for supervising contractors and ensuring they are working safely on-site.

Training on how to spot signs of “thermal damage” (burning or scorching), overloaded circuits, and damaged cables or accessories during routine property inspections.

Understanding the difference between PAT Testing (In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment) and EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports), including how to read and interpret safety certificates.

Clarifying which electrical works are “notifiable” to Local Authority Building Control and the legal necessity of using competent persons.
