COMCAT2 Catering Appliances Training Course
Logic4training’s COMCAT 2 commercial gas catering course is designed for qualified gas engineers aiming to install, service and repair commercial catering appliances, including water boilers (pressure types), pressure steamers, pressurised steaming ovens and ancillary equipment. Led by experienced, Gas Safe registered tutors, it equips engineers with compliance, safety, and practical skills required for the commercial catering sector.
The course is for experienced operatives who wish to undertake commission, service, repair and breakdown of category 2 commercial catering appliances, including water boilers (pressure types), pressure steamers, pressurised steaming ovens and ancillary appliances.
The COMCAT 2 Commercial Gas Catering course is ideally suited for experienced gas engineers who wish to expand their expertise into the field of commercial catering appliances.
This course includes training and assessment on COMCAT1. Operatives will learn how to install, service, repair, respond to breakdowns, and commission a diverse range of commercial catering appliances and the training is aligned with current UK commercial gas safety regulations.
The training is delivered in person, running from 8.30am to around 4.00pm at Logic4training’s Sittingbourne centre.
Candidates must hold one of the following ACS qualifications:
- Core Commercial Catering Gas Safety (CCCN1)
- Changeover from Domestic to Commercial Catering module (CODC).
Additionally, operatives must have been registered with Gas Safe for a minimum of 12 months.

Certificates are processed and distributed by LCL Awards following successful completion of the assessment, with standard turnaround times of around 20 working days. Fast-track options may be available.
The COMCAT2 qualification must be renewed every five years to remain valid. Engineers can undertake reassessment up to six months before the expiry date without losing any validity time.
