Registration with OFTEC is the recognised route for oil firing technicians and allows self-certification of notifiable work. Holding the relevant certificates is what qualifies you to apply, which is why most installers take a package covering all three at once.
OFTEC assessments are valid for five years, after which you need to be reassessed to stay registered.
Most engineers renew all three certificates together so the expiry dates stay aligned, which avoids repeat trips to a centre. If you only need to renew one, book through our individual oil courses rather than repeating the full package.
