NAPIT want to raise awareness of the Building Regulations Enforcement (Part P) with the help of an excellent Infographic.
NAPIT, in case you didn't know, is one of the leading Government approved and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited membership scheme operators in the building services and fabric sector.
With over 10,000 NAPIT registered installers, including in the electrical trade, across the UK, NAPIT has a well respected voice in the industry.
In 2005 the government introduced electrical safety rules into the Building Regulations for England and Wales. Because of this, most fixed electrical installation work in homes must, by law, meet the Building Regulations.
NAPIT have produced the Infographic below to show that Part P is still not being taking as seriously as it should be. Dangerous DIY electrical work is leading to injury from electric shocks and meaning that electricians are spending a lot of time fixing botched DIY jobs. There is also a real lack of awareness from home owners.
Electricians carrying out work in England and Wales have to comply with Part P of the Building Regulations.

How to become a member of NAPIT
Becoming a member requires you to earn your stripes as a domestic electrical installer. Part P training from Logic4training is a good place to start, particularly if you are Kitchen fitter with experience in other trades but not in electrical.
