Case Study – Knowhow

Client Requirement

We were approached by the KnowHow part of the DSG group, to deliver the City & Guilds 6014-03 Level 3 Diploma in Gas Utilisation including cookers, tumble dryers and leisure for a group of the apprentices who had previously completed an apprenticeship for the installation, maintenance and repair of domestic white goods. This would lead them to become gas safe registered.

Our Solution

Who was involved and the process of communication

Working with KnowHow and their technical team responsible for gas safety and training, we developed an extended delivery programme that included weekly block release at our Luton training centre.

This was followed by onsite work experience with experienced KnowHow operatives where they built their portfolio and carried out a witnessed onsite assessment by one of KnowHow’s experienced team of assessors.

Description of the training carried out 

We delivered an in-depth training programme within our state of the art training centre at Luton with an equal mixture of theory training in the classroom and practical training in our dedicated workshops.

We also developed an online revision programme allowing the candidates to revise as they were undertaking the course and whilst in the field.

Outcome & Feedback

This culminated in a Logic4training and Knowhow Gas Trainee Awards Presentation on 21st October 2015 attended by Steve Gibb (Director of Home Services for KnowHow) and Mark Krull from Logic4training when the candidates were presented with their certificates and awards for individuals who excelled throughout the course.
