Most oil installers need three: OFT101 for pressure jet appliances, OFT105E for oil installation and energy conservation, and OFT600A for oil storage tanks.

Yes. The courses in this range are for experienced installers, typically heating engineers adding oil to their existing competence.
If you are new to the trade, start with OFT50, our beginner oil course, which sits in the new entrants section and provides the underpinning knowledge these qualifications assume.

OFTEC operates the industry's competence assessment scheme and runs a government-approved Competent Person Scheme, which is what allows registered technicians to self-certify work under Part J of the Building Regulations rather than notifying building control on every job.
