FAQs
The TPCP1 Testing & Purging course is designed for experienced operatives who wish to undertake tightness testing and purging of installation pipework exceeding 1m³ in volume, with operating pressures up to 16 bar for natural gas and 2 bar for LPG. The course provides both training and assessment, ensuring participants are competent in these critical safety procedures.
Tightness testing ensures that gas pipework is free from leaks before being commissioned or returned to service, preventing potentially hazardous situations. Purging is essential to safely remove air or gas mixtures from pipework, reducing the risk of explosion or fire when introducing or removing gas from the system.
Gas engineers must renew their ACS qualifications, including TPCP1, every five years to remain compliant with Gas Safe Register requirements. You can renew up to six months before your current qualification expires without losing any validity time.
Feature | TPCP1 (>1m³ in Volume) | TPCP1A (<1m³ in Volume) |
