Logic4training’s Domestic Gas Heating Installer New Entrants Route is for candidates looking to become a Gas Safe Registered gas engineer but do not have the skills and knowledge to undertake the ACS gas assessments.

The Domestic Gas Heating Installer New Entrants Route is a set of hands-on courses that provides you with all the practical skills and underpinning knowledge needed to work as a domestic Gas Safe Registered engineer. Our New Entrants packages have been designed for clear routes into the gas industry, with options to upskill to work on more domestic appliances, commercial gas, LPG, and/or heat pumps.

If you are a tradesperson working in a related trade, such as a plumber or kitchen fitter, who is looking to complete your ACS and gain your CCN1 and CENWAT, our Gas Managed Learning Programme is best suited for you.

The Essential Site Skills Course is included in our Gold & Platinum Packages but can be added to other packages.

Stage two

In-Centre Training & Portfolio Building

Here comes the best bit! On your start date, you’ll go into the centre and start your theory and practical training, working on completing the Domestic Gas Heating Installer Course (DGHI) & Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP). Over the 8 weeks, you’ll learn all the essential skills and theoretical underpinning needed to become a Gas Safety Registered Engineer. Following your training, you must produce a portfolio of gas-related tasks before you return for your final ACS assessments.

ClubLogic: Online Revision

At Logic4training, we’re committed to providing both in-centre training and an online learning/revision platform. ClubLogic, our online platform, doesn’t replace in-centre learning but allows you to take what you’ve learned in the class and revisit it online. Upon signing up for your Domestic Gas Heating Installer Course (DGHI), you will be able to access ClubLogic. Throughout your course, you can access more revision modules and practice assessments.

Essential Site Skills

Learn The Essential Trade Skills

The Essential Site Skills course offers an excellent starting point for anyone new to the trades or with limited experience. Over the 5 days, you'll cover the essential techniques and knowledge to help you tackle tasks confidently, all while maintaining high standards in your work.

  • Safe site working (locating cables and pipes)
  • Building Structures, materials, components and fixings
  • Building regulations (altering, drilling, and notching structural areas)
  • Essential wall fixing methods and materials
  • Chasing solid brick and block walls for pipes and cables, including making good.
  • Ceramic tile repair, cutting around electrical sockets and switches)
  • Safe use of hand and power tools
  • Plasterboard wall repair and access.
  • Essential Carpentry (lifting floorboards, creating access hatches in floors and ceilings, drilling and notching timber joists)

Domestic Gas Heating Installer Course

The DGHI New Entrants 4 week course starts with the basic principles of gas heating and plumbing. This will prepare you for the Gas Managed Learning Programme.

Gas MLP

Gas Managed Learning Programme

The Gas Managed Learning Programme is a 4 week course that covers all aspects of domestic gas safety. You start in-centre, learning the theoretical underpinnings and practicals skills to becoming a gas engineer, before you then build your on-site gas portfolio. Upon completing your portfolio, you'll come back to complete some refresher training and your final ACS assessments.

Gas Managed Learning Programme - Portfolio

Completing the gas portfolio is a mandatory requirement to complete the Gas Managed Learning Programme. You can do your on-site portfolio and boiler installations with a Gas Safe Registered engineer of your choice or we can provide a portfolio building service.
