Top up, don't start over.
If you already hold part of the OFTEC set, there is no reason to repeat what you have. Individual assessments let you add or renew the single certificate your work actually calls for.

- For installers adding or renewing single certificates
- OFTEC approved assessment at our centres
Individual oil courses explained.
Filling a gap in your OFTEC certificates? These answers explain what each one covers.
Engineers who only service appliances and never touch the tank may manage with OFT101 alone, but any work involving tank replacement, relocation or a new installation needs OFT600A. It is also the cheapest of the three at £295 + VAT, so most installers hold it rather than turning work away.
See the OFT600A course page for content and dates.
Most candidates are heating engineers adding oil to what they offer, or existing oil technicians renewing certificates. You need practical familiarity with the appliances and installations being assessed, since the courses test competence rather than build it from the ground up.
New to oil? Start with OFT50, our introductory course, which sits in the new entrant oil route and provides the foundation these assessments assume.
Individual courses are the usual route for renewals, since most engineers only need to refresh one or two certificates at a time rather than repeating the full Oil Boiler Package.
Where possible, align your expiry dates so you can renew everything in one visit rather than returning to a centre each year. Book before your certificates lapse, as expired qualifications can mean a longer route back.
OFT600A is £295 + VAT, OFT105E is £345 + VAT and OFT101 is £395 + VAT. All three together come to £1,035 + VAT, against £825 + VAT for the Oil Boiler Package.
We also offer 0% finance and pay-in-instalments options, so speak to our team about the best route for you.
