Logic4training’s Domestic Gas Heating Installer (DGHI) – Experienced Trades bronze package is for operatives looking to join the Gas Safe register, with at least two years’ experience in a related trade - such as plumbers or kitchen fitters.
An in-depth training programme, the course covers all aspects of domestic gas safety, culminating in Gas ACS.
Logic4training’s Domestic Gas Heating Installer (DGHI) – Experienced Trades package is designed for operatives with at least two years’ experience in a related trade (plumber, kitchen fitter or similar) who are looking to gain the relevant qualifications in order to become a registered gas installer.
The DGHI – Experienced Trades route is an in-depth training programme delivered from all four of our centres. Access to our Clublogic online learning portal is also included for continued learning and revision whilst on the programme.
The training course covers all aspects of domestic gas safety and includes Logic4training’s Managed Learning Programme course. All topics are broken down into easy-to-digest sections.
You will also complete five separate health and safety online modules plus the Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating and Hot Water Systems and Safety courses.
The cost of the course includes training, a training manual, assessment, the certification fee and the Candidate Workbook for recording on-site work experience.
The DGHI – Experienced Trades package is for operatives with some experience in a related trade, for example, plumbing or kitchen fitting, who are looking to become Gas Safe registered.
As this is a Managed Learning Programme, all topics are broken down into easy-to-digest sections, with industry recognised qualifications and certificates of competence awarded on completion of each module.
The course duration for is dependent on the experience and knowledge of the candidate, which is assessed during the MLP introduction session that takes place at each centre. Completion of the course is followed by on-site work experience and ACS training and assessment.
Core training: Candidates will complete the Managed Learning Programme (MLP).
Successful students will receive competence certificates for the different technical elements and an industry recognised MLP training certificate from LCL Awards; necessary to access ACS gas training and assessment.
On-site work experience: Candidates will then be ready to start building an on-site portfolio. You can do your on-site portfolio and boiler installations with a Gas Safe Registered engineer of your choice or we can provide a portfolio building service. The platinum package includes this element in the price.
Boiler installations: Before starting your onsite portfolio you will need to undertake a Direct Observation of a boiler installation, service and repair within our centre, this is included within the cost of the programme. This takes place over 2 days. You will then need to complete and record within your portfolio, a further four boiler installations as required by the ACS scheme. You can do this with a Gas Safe Registered engineer of your choice. We will review your portfolio mid way through and make recommendations. If you are unable to complete all the tasks on site we may be able to carry the remaining tasks within our centre.
ACS assessment: At the end of the programme, candidates will undertake a five-day ACS revision and assessment course, including two days of refresher training followed by the Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) and Central Heating Boilers / Water Heaters (CENWAT) assessments.
On successful completion, operatives will be at the right level to join the Gas Safe register.

This course also includes five online health and safety modules: safe use of tools, asbestos & legionella awareness, manual handling and fire safety precautions.
The course includes practical assessments and multiple choice question papers. Successful operatives will receive a LCL Awards Certificate of Training.

The DGHI – Experienced Trades route is designed for operatives with transferable skills who are familiar with working in related areas, such as plumbing or who are currently working under the supervision and training of a Gas Safe registered company or person.
To enrol on this course you will know how to install hot and cold water pipework and fittings competently.
You will have two years’ experience in a related trade and/or a recognised qualification. Verification and assessment will be required.
