The Domestic Gas Heating Installer Experienced Trades Route is a hands-on course that provides you with all the practical skills and underpinning knowledge needed to work as a domestic gas safe registered engineer. Our Experienced Trades packages have been designed for clear routes into the gas industry, with options to upskill to work on more domestic appliances, commercial gas, LPG, and/or heat pumps.

Learn The Essential Trade Skills

The Essential Site Skills course spans five days and is ideal for those new to the trades or with only a small amount of experience. Throughout the course, you’ll gain a variety of practical skills, equipping you to perform tasks effectively while upholding strong professional standards on the job.

  • Safe site working (locating cables and pipes)
  • Building Structures, materials, components and fixings
  • Building regulations (altering, drilling, and notching structural areas)
  • Essential wall fixing methods and materials
  • Chasing solid brick and block walls for pipes and cables, including making good.
  • Ceramic tile repair, cutting around electrical sockets and switches)
  • Safe use of hand and power tools
  • Plasterboard wall repair and access.
  • Essential Carpentry (lifting floorboards, creating access hatches in floors and ceilings, drilling and notching timber joists)

Gas Managed Learning Programme

The Gas Managed Learning Programme is a 4 week course that covers all aspects of domestic gas safety. You start in-centre, learning the theoretical underpinnings and practicals skills to becoming a gas engineer, before you then build your on-site gas portfolio. Upon completing your portfolio, you'll come back to complete some refresher training and your final ACS assessments.

Gas Managed Learning Programme - Portfolio

Completing the gas portfolio is a mandatory requirement to complete the Gas Managed Learning Programme. You can do your on-site portfolio and boiler installations with a Gas Safe Registered engineer of your choice or we can provide a portfolio building service.
