To become a qualified gas engineer in the UK, you must successfully complete the ACS gas practical and theoretical elements of the CCN1 and appliances qualifications. After successful completion, you will be able to sign up to the Gas Safe Register and legally work as a gas engineer.

In-Centre Training & Portfolio Building

Here comes the best bit! On your start date, you’ll go into the centre and start your theory and practical training, working on completing the Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP). Over the 4 weeks, you’ll learn all the essential skills and theoretical underpinning needed to become a Gas Safety Registered Engineer. Following your training, you must produce a portfolio of gas-related tasks before you return for your final ACS assessments.

Club Logic Online Revision

Online revision pairs perfectly with hands-on, in-centre training. Together, they create a balanced learning experience. Upon signing up for your Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP), you will be able to access ClubLogic and start learning. Learn The Essential Trade Skills

The Essential Site Skills course spans five days and is ideal for those new to the trades or with only a small amount of experience. Throughout the course, you’ll gain a variety of practical skills, equipping you to perform tasks effectively while upholding strong professional standards on the job.

Gas Managed Learning Programme

The Gas Managed Learning Programme is a 4 week course that covers all aspects of domestic gas safety. You start in-centre, learning the theoretical underpinnings and practicals skills to becoming a gas engineer, before you then build your on-site gas portfolio. Upon completing your portfolio, you'll come back to complete some refresher training and your final ACS assessments.

Completing the gas portfolio is a mandatory requirement to complete the Gas Managed Learning Programme. You can do your on-site portfolio and boiler installations with a Gas Safe Registered engineer of your choice or we can provide a portfolio building service. Start with the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. An essential for everyone in the industry, as safety and knowing how to respond in an emergency can save lives.

Before starting your gas training course, you must complete pre-course learning on essential tools, materials, calculations, and health and safety content so you can make the most of your in-centre training time.

The Gas Managed Learning Programme is your 3-week in-centre core gas training that covers the essential theory, practical skills and online ClubLogic work needed to become a gas engineer.

This course is ideal for operatives who want to join their local Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme (WIAPS), competent person scheme (CPS) or the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

The HWSS course is recognised by competent person schemes (CPS) approved to offer self-certification under Approved Document G.

After completing your gas MLP training, you must successfully complete one in-centre boiler installation, one service job and one breakdown job so the team can confirm you are ready for live portfolio work and count these towards your gas portfolio.

All our courses are full-time. Courses start at 8.30 am and usually finish at around 4.00 pm. You will be advised on your first day at the centre if there are any changes to these times. The centre is open from 8.00 am, and there is tea & coffee awaiting.

The Gas Managed Learning Programme is available at our Northolt, Luton, Basildon, or Sittingbourne Centres.

You will need to have at least 2 years of experience in a related trade. We will assess candidates to check their suitability and a good understanding of maths and English is essential.

Yes, it is possible to complete the course on weekends. The Gas Managed Learning Programme can be completed on weekends at our Northolt Centre and would take 3 months to complete.

There are no formal assessments. You will receive Logic4training Certificates upon completing these courses.

If you are looking to work on the following appliances, you must wait the mandatory 12 months from your ACS completion date and be Gas Safe Registered.

Classes can have a maximum of 10 people. We like to keep our class sizes small, so that you have more contact time with your trainer.

Yes. After completing your Gas Managed Learning Programme, you can apply to join the Gas Safe Register.

We understand that being able to spread the cost of the course is an appealing option, so we have teamed up with OMNI Retail Finance to make this possible. When speaking to your course advisor, let them know that you want to spread the course cost, and they can help you start the process. More information can be found here.

All tools and equipment are provided during this course. However, you will need to bring hard steel toe-capped boots for when you are in the workshop. In some circumstances, candidates may bring their own test equipment if they so desire, but please check beforehand.

Logic4training will supply reading material and textbooks on the first day of attendance; however, it is a good idea to bring in pens, highlighters, and sticky notes.
